The author of the review series, Gabrie van Zanten, thought it would be appropriate to let the vendors speak in response to his reviews. We decided to publish the vendors' responses to give our readers any relevant upcoming product information.
We're happy that vRanger Pro 4.0 Data Protection Platform was awarded a Best of VMworld 2009 award in the Data Protection category based on many of the features covered here.
We're also excited about our upcoming releases. This quarter we will release 4.2, adding support for vSphere vStorage application programming interfaces (APIs). This will bring us support for out-of-band (LAN free) backups over Fibre, iSCSI or network and add support for VMware's ESXi hypervisor.
Early next year, we will release 4.5 with many enhancements to the core engine to further improve speed, scalability and ease of use. Some of the new features include Inline deduplication, changed block tracking (via vStorage API) and active block mapping (ABM). Additionally, we will introduce backup repository destinations in the cloud.
