While VMware vSphere 6 isn't expected to be released until the first half of 2015, VMware continues to polish vSphere 5.5 and pushed out the second update for its flagship virtualization platform in the fall of 2014.
Some of the highlights for this release are more than 100 bug fixes, several vulnerability patches, and support for new guest operating systems, processors and hosts with 6 terabytes of RAM. There was one significant change that should appeal to administrators who are not particularly fond of the vSphere Web Client.
